Inde i Crystal Shipsss befinder sig lo-fi singer-songwriter Jacob Faurholt, som blandet andet har opvarmet for The Black Heart Possession, CocoRosie, Efterklang og Grizzly Bear. I juni 2012 udgav han sit 6. album ”Yay”, inspireret af navne som Jesus & Mary Chain og The Pale Saints. Jacob faurholt har desuden arbejdet sammen med legendariske producer Mark Kramer, som bl.a. har produceret Low, Daniel Johnston og Galaxie 500.
