Mankind (SE):
It’s explosive, dark, potent, and psyched out. The main little monster fish here is the band Mankind. Currently whipping up the underground and warehouse parties in Stockholm with their runaway, throbbing and decadent shows.
Mankind were brought up on music released long before they were born and in boroughs far from where they lived (the early 90’s Seattle scene, the Velvet’s New York, The Door’s California, London 60s…) and that’s exactly where they belong artistically. But in addition they also have their own DNA, a unique sound full of odd Mankind figments, twisted song structures, lyrics that are¨clever, angry, darkly funny, upsetting and on-point and a world of imagery and ideas that we know will keep us busy and alert.
+ Support: Twin Dive
After releasing their debut single ”Joy Will Follow” in March 2019, Twin Dive’s music has been catchily coined ‘cosmopolitan punk rock’ by the listeners. The term does not only accurately grasp the sound, but also the band’s origins, as all three members have their roots in different countries – Iceland, Lithuania and Denmark.
”The word “potential” is often overused when it comes to art and music, but in this case, it merely illustrates the tip of the iceberg (…) we’re predicting big things for this Aarhus-based trio in the none-distant future” writes UK based Drowned in Sound about Twin Dive performance during this year’s SPOT Festival.
Inventive in their dynamic and infectiously confident, Twin Dive delivers a promise of a bright future for both the rocknroll scene, as well as the world at large.
