Karmen Rõivassepp is an Estonian jazz vocalist, composer and arranger, who has resided in Denmark for the past few years. She has a clear and distinct sound and is always playful and effortless in her performance. Being raised as a piano player, she is a skilful improviser with a keen knowledge in jazz harmonies. Karmen is collaborating in many different settings varying from duo jazz and experimental trio to big band music that all together reveals her versatile essence as a jazz musician.
Karmen Rõivassepp Quartet, consisting of Karmen on vocals, Simon Eskildsen on piano, Adrian Christensen on bass and Daniel Sommer on drums, is a playful constellation that is maneuvering between contemporary jazz and more traditional swing and latin styles, while still having their roots in Nordic calmness and Estonian serenity. On June 8th the quartet is releasing their debut album with exciting original material under the label of AMP Music & Records.
